West Bengal Freeship Scheme is a scholarship program. Under this program, undergraduate students enrolled in self-financing private engineering and technical institutes in West Bengal would either receive a complete or partial reimbursement of their tuition fees. The candidates must be enrolled in programs in engineering, technology, pharmacy, or architecture. All government engineering and technology colleges in the state that have received approval from the AICTE, as well as government-aided and unaided self-financing institutions, would be subject to the West Bengal Freeship Scheme (WBFS) program.

Eligibility Criteria for West Bengal Freeship Scheme
The applicants applying for the WBFS Scholarship must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be West Bengal residents
- Candidates must have a national or state merit rank in engineering, technology, pharmacy, or architecture.
- A candidate’s family’s annual income cannot exceed INR 2, 50,000
- All government engineering and technology colleges in the state that have received AICTE approval, as well as government-aided self-financing engineering and technology colleges and non-aided self-financing engineering and technology colleges, will apply to the West Bengal Freeship Scheme (WBFS) program.
- Applicants chosen for the West Bengal Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship Program or the Tuition-Free Waiver (TFW) Program of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) would not be eligible for this West Bengal Freeship Scheme

Steps to Apply for West Bengal Freeship Scheme
To apply for the WBFS Scholarship, the user needs to follow the below-given steps:

- Under the Applicant login tab, enter the applicant ID and the password
- After that, enter the captcha code and click on the login button
- Once you are successfully logged in, the application form will open on the screen
- Now, fill in the form with all the required details
- After that, upload all the required documents
- Please adhere to the recommended file formats and sizes when uploading scanned copies of your signature and an image (photograph). JPG or JPEG file types and sizes between 20KB and 50KB and 10KB and 20KB, respectively, should be used for both the image (photograph) and the signature. Files should be in PDF format and size should not exceed 400KB.

WBFS Scholarship Password Policy
Candidates must choose a password once they have generated the 15-digit application ID. However, the West Bengal Freeship Scheme (WBFS) includes the following stringent password guidelines:
- Passwords need to be at least 8 characters long.
- Moreover, it must include at least 1 “Upper Case Alphabet” (from A to Z)
- Moreover, it must include at least 1 “Lower Case Alphabet” (from a to z)
- At least 1 “Numeric Character (i.e. 0-9)” is required.
- Moreover, it must contain at least one “Special Character” (i.e., @#$&* )
