Air Suvidha Portal
Air Suvidha Portal is an initiative of the Government of India. International travelers need to submit a self-declaration related to their health condition, information about the trip as well as covid-19 immunization or testing status. To do so, an online platform has been started. This portal will help international travelers returning to India, in completing the self-declaration required for travel through online mode. Applicants can submit their application by using this portal to the Airport Health Organization (APHO), under the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Once again the air suvidha portal has been started on Saturday31st December 22. All travelers who are traveling to India from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan have to mandatorily upload a negative RT-PCR report. The test report should not be older than 72 hours prior to departure. The government has also issued new guidelines for international travelers. Random tests of 2% of arriving passengers on each flight will also be conducted. International travelers also have to submit a self-declaration in which they have to state that “they would abide by the decision of the appropriate government authority for any post-arrival requirement, including home/institutional quarantine and self-health monitoring, as warranted”

Many passengers have shown dissatisfaction with the services provided through the air suvidha portal. Airlines are not allowing passengers who do not have air suvidha acknowledgment. Portal bugs are the main reason for the dissatisfaction of the customers. Due to postal issues, passengers also said that their passports were not uploaded. The non-availability of Air suvidha is also leading to travelers losing their money.
Current Situation Of Air Suvidha Portal
After several requests and objections, the Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that the website would be completely redesigned. Currently, the portal is not open due to operational reasons. International travelers will not be required to upload a copy of their passports on the new portal. Moreover, passengers who are traveling with their families can enter all their information in one place. But still, Travelers need to upload their COVID-19 test results or vaccination status. A report claimed that the administration is considering doing away with the need for air connectivity from August. No official announcements have been made yet in this regard.

- Requirement of negative RT-PCR certificate
- People who is fully immunized and traveling from one of the countries on the list of MoHFW’s need to submit a Certificate of completion of full primary immunization schedule for COVID-19 vaccination with date, or a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report (tested within 72 hours prior to commencement of journey.
- Only a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report is required if arriving at the airport from a country not included in the list.
