The Karnataka Ganga Kalyan Scheme was introduced by the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation. Under this state government program, irrigation facilities will be installed by drilling borewells or digging open wells and installing pump sets and accessories for the benefit of the farmers who will get them on their agricultural property. The government intends to allocate between Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 3 lakh for each borewell project.
The state government has allotted funds for the drilling of borewells, the purchase of pump sets, and an electrification deposit of Rs. 50,000. In addition, the districts of Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara Kolar, Chikkaballapur, and Tumkur covered by this scheme will receive a subsidy of Rs 3.5 lakh in addition to other districts receiving a subsidy of Rs 2 lakh.
