Through this scheme, assistance of Rs 1000 every month will be provided to the students studying in classes 6th and 12th of the state. Tamiz Puthalvan scheme more than 2,000 boys will get monthly assistance of Rs 1000
Over 4,000 college students studying in classes 6 to 12 in government schools are getting monthly assistance of ₹1,000 under the ‘Puthumai Pen’ scheme of the Tamil Nadu government in Tirunelveli district. Under the recently launched Tamizh Puthalvan scheme, about 2,000 government school students are also going to get assistance of Rs 1000. Sources in the school education department said 2,105 boys from government schools appeared for the Plus Two public examinations held in March and 1,904 of them have passed. At least 2,000 government higher secondary school students from Tirunelveli district will go to college this year. Therefore, all of them will be eligible to receive monthly assistance of ₹1,000 under the ‘Tamizh Puthalvan’ scheme.
