UDAN Scheme Objective

The primary goal of the UDAN Scheme is to provide air service between small and medium cities and major cities. The country’s citizens will have access to inexpensive and convenient air travel options under this programme. Many people will be able to travel for less money using aeroplanes. To put this plan into action, the government will offer subsidies. The country’s level of living will rise thanks to this plan. In addition, time and effort will be saved. People may now travel farther and faster across the nation. All of the country’s regular citizens will be able to travel by plane thanks to this strategy. Additionally, this plan will increase employment opportunities across the nation.

Udan Scheme Implementation

  • The aviation business made a bid for the flight under this plan.
  • The contract is given to the business that requests the smallest subsidy.
  • According to this plan, the airline must reserve a half, or a minimum of 9 or a maximum of 40 seats, for each flight.
  • Small cities throughout the nation will be connected to the nation through this plan.
  • Currently, a taxi ride costs Rs. 10 per km, but thanks to this programme, the cost of a 500 km flight will only be Rs. 2500.
  • That translates to Rs. 5, which is less than the cost of a cab ride.
  • The country’s residents will save time and money with the adoption of this plan.
  • Employment is generated as a result of the implementation of this plan in industries such as airport operation, aircraft repair, air traffic control, and technical staff.
  • Through this programme, tourism will also be encouraged.
