177 Private Schools Selected for SHRESHTA Scheme

As you are all aware, Virendra Kumar, the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, established the SHRESHTA Scheme to provide better educational opportunities to the poorest SC youngsters. 177 private schools have been identified by the government. The initiative reserves around 1300 seats in grade 9 and 1700 seats in grade 11 for students in these schools. The national entrance test for SHRESHTA, which is administered by the National Testing Agency, is used to select scheduled caste students from across states and union territories.

The exam will be computer-based, and students will be admitted to institutions depending on their performance on the exam. Through a web-based counselling system, all students who are selected through the exam will be given a choice of school. This programme will pay both school and hostel fees. The scholarship amount under this scheme is Rs 1 lakh per annum for grade 9, Rs 1.10 lakh for grade 10, Rs 1.25 lakh for grade 11, and Rs 1.35 lakh for grade 12.

Residential Schools Under SHRESHTA Scheme

Students who pass the NETs exam will be considered for admission to CBSE-accredited schools. Scholarships will be distributed directly to the schools that are admitting the shortlisted applicants under this program. This scholarship will pay for both school and hostel expenses. This scheme is only for residential schools that are CBSE affiliated up to class 12th, have been in existence for five years or more, and have a pass percentage of at least 75% in class 10th and 12th in the previous three years. Residential schools that are interested must submit their online approval by March 25, 2022.

  • The exam consists of a single examination with four sections: mathematics, science and social science, and general knowledge.

Guidelines for using Unfair Means and Violating Examination Rules

  • If a candidate engages in any form of unfair examination practice, his or her case will be filed under the ufm.
  • Candidates who engage in unethical behaviour will have their results withheld.
  • Candidates who appear at a centre other than the one given to them or who allow another candidate or person to write the exam on their behalf will have their results cancelled.

SHRESHTA Scheme Admit Card
