Assam Orunodoi Scheme:- Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam’s Health Minister, introduced the Arunodoi Scheme on August 12, 2020. Assam Orunodoi Scheme 2024
The Assam government started the Assam Orunodoi Scheme on December 1, 2020. In Assam, the Orunodoi Scheme will provide recipients with Rs 830 each month to purchase basic things including medications, beans, sugar, and other necessities. Rs 400 will be allocated to the purchase of medicines, Rs 200 to the purchase of 4 kilograms of beans, Rs 80 to the purchase of sugar, and Rs 150 to the purchase of fruit origin. The money will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts under this plan, using the direct benefit transfer technique. The Assam government would invest Rs 2400 crore per year in the Assam Orunodoi project.

The chief minister of Assam Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on 14th December 2022 launched the Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme. The scheme was launched by the Chief Minister Virtually from Delhi. Assam Arunodoi Scheme Objective
The major goal of the Assam Orunodoi project will be to implement numerous services across the state of Assam. The beneficiaries of the Assam Orunodoi plan would receive a variety of perks. Assam Orunodoi Scheme Beneficiary
Around 22 lakh people will be covered under this scheme. The scheme was introduced by Assam’s chief minister, SarbanandaSonowal, at a gathering in Amingaon, Kamrup district. Assam Orunodoi Scheme Benefits
The money will be transferred to the women who would benefit from this scheme via direct bank transfer. For the next five years, this sum will be transferred annually. Women who are disabled, widowed, divorced, unmarried, separated, or handicapped will be given preference under this scheme. The participants of this scheme will receive a variety of benefits, including:
- A budget of 2800 crore rupees has been set aside for the Scheme, under which 27 lakh helpless families will receive 10,000 rupees per year through DBT.

Procedure for Selecting the Assam Orunodoi Scheme Beneficiary
The recipients of the Assam Orunodoi plan will be chosen using the following procedure:-
- The district-level monitoring committee will be in charge of finalizing the recipient list by the criteria.
- Under this scheme, the preliminary selection will be done at the village council development committee/gaun Panchayat/urban local body.
- The village council development committee/gain Panchayat/urban local body must create an undertaking cum checklist based on the conditions of eligibility and ineligibility.
- Annexure A will have this checklist attached.
- The member secretary of the DLMC will assemble this checklist by LAC so that it may be presented to the district-level monitoring committee for prioritizing and selection.
