Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu has launched the Thayumanavar Scheme to provide benefits to the citizens of the state. Through this scheme, benefits are provided to the most vulnerable sections of society, including the destitute, elderly persons living alone, single-parent families, orphan children, mentally challenged people, disabled persons, and children requiring special assistance, etc. The Chief Minister said that an amount of Rs 27,922 crore has been allocated for this scheme under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
