Assam Police Seva Setu:- The Assam Police and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) jointly developed the “Sewa Setu” mobile app, which was launched by the Assam government. Using the app, people can file FIRs, report missing persons, and verify rental agreements without going to the police station.

The facility will close the gap between the public and the police and allow people to easily access a variety of services while relaxing at home. Among others, the feature of registration of senior citizens living alone will help the police keep an eye on their security.

So, the citizens can now also register e-complaints and other police-related services on the Assam Police Seva Setu Portal without visiting any police station. The facility will enable the police to operate more quickly for the benefit of the people and the state. Over the previous two years, the state’s crime situation has improved. “Over 11,000 instances were recorded each month, but over 6,000 cases have been reported each month during the past two years. In addition, the conviction rate increased from 5.4% to 14% during the last two years, while the charge sheet rate rose from 39% in 2021 to 58.5% now.

Follow the process below to register on this portal:
- Go to the official website of the portal i.e. polcitizen.assam.gov.in/
- Click on the Register option on the top right side of the main page.
- A new page will open on the screen. Enter the following information:
- Name
- Mobile number
- Password
- Enter the captcha
- Click on Get OTP.
- Enter the OTP that was sent on your mobile.
- Now a new application form will appear on the screen.
- Enter the details in the application form.
- After that, click on the register option.
