Phase 3 Update of the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme

The third phase of the program will begin at the beginning of the current fiscal year, according to CM KCR. The TS state budget 2022–2023 includes funding for the Sheep Distribution Program Phase 3 from the Telangana government. Phase 3 sheep distribution to shepherds and sheep producer associations will soon begin.

The Telangana Sheep Distribution Program’s Second Phase, which the state government previously began on October 24, 2021, is now over. On the CM KCR’s orders, plans were made to distribute 3.5 lakh sheep at a rate of 20 sheep to each beneficiary in the Golla Kuruma village. Phase 2 of the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme cost about Rs. 6,000 crores. The first phase of the scheme cost the government Rs. 5,000 crore, and 3.74 lakh sheep units were distributed during that period.

As a result of the CM’s decision to raise the sheep unit price from Rs. 1.25 lakh to Rs. 1,75,000, the beneficiary component, which represents 25% of the total unit cost, has also been raised by Rs. 12,500, or from Rs. 31,250 to Rs. 43,750. Around 2,797 beneficiaries in all received the sheep units, each of which had 20 sheep and one ram, after paying their portion through demand draughts along with an additional sum of Rs. 12,000.
