Seva Sindhu Shakti Smart Card:- The government on Monday unveiled the rules for the Shakti plan, which ensures free bus travel for women within the states, three days after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the implementation of five guarantees stated by Congress in its platform. The government gave Shakti administrative authority and mentioned buses where the program will be used. Starting on June 11, women in the state are free to ride state-owned buses. The distance that the state’s ladies traveled will determine how much reimbursement is paid to the road transport businesses. Within three months, females are permitted to apply for the Shakti Smart Card using the Seva Sindhu Portal.

In its manifesto for the Karnataka Assembly elections, Congress had pledged to implement a plan that would provide women with free bus transportation. The government granted in-principle approval for the program along with four other guarantees when Siddaramaiah took over as Chief Minister. The Karnataka government declared in June that the Shakti plan would go into effect on June 11. The conductors must give women named in the tickets zero fare tickets from the starting point to the destination, and the government will reimburse the transportation companies based on the distance traveled.

Features of Shakti Smart Card
According to the government’s decision, women can apply for the “Shakti” smart card online at Sevesindhu.karnataka.gov.in during the next three months. When the government will begin providing these cards, though, is unclear. The government has permitted photo identification cards with residential addresses issued by the state government or the centre until these cards are issued. Beginning on June 11, Aadhaar cards are accepted for free travel.
Seva Sindhu Shakti Smart Card Eligibility Criteria
The applicants applying for Shakti Smart Card must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

- The Shakti scheme is open to the transgender community as well.

The buses which are not used for the Implementation of Shakti Scheme are as follows:
- Luxury buses
- Buses travelling outside the state
- Ambari
- Sleeper buses including both AC and non AC
- Airavat
- Vayu Vajra
- EV Power Plus (AC)
- Flybus
Reservation for Men under the Shakti Scheme
In buses where the Shakti scheme is in effect, the government has stipulated that 50% of the seats be set aside for men.

- Now, under the Apply for Service tab, click on the Register link
- The registration form will open on your screen
- Now, fill in the form with all the required details

- The homepage of the website will open on your screen
- Now, under the Apply for Service tab, enter your registered Email id/Mobile Number
- After that, click on the Get OTP button
- An OTP will be sent to your registered Email id/Mobile Number
- Enter the received OTP
- After that, enter the captcha code and click on the submit button
