Mo Jungle Jami Yojana:- The Odisha government has recently introduced a groundbreaking scheme named Mo Jungle Jami Yojana, aimed at bolstering forest rights among tribal communities and forest dwellers across the state. With this initiative, Odisha is set to become the first state in India to recognize both individual and community forest rights. The Odisha Mo Jungle Jami Scheme operates in conjunction with the 2006 Recognition of Forest Rights Act (FRA), which focuses on acknowledging the rights of scheduled tribes and other traditional forest dwellers.

One of the standout features of the ମୋ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ଜାମି ଯୋଜନା is its recognition of community forest rights, in addition to individual rights provided by the FRA. This groundbreaking step will ensure that entire communities have ownership of land and access to forest resources, further empowering them to participate in mainstream development programs initiated by the government.

The Mo Jungle Jami Yojana places special emphasis on empowering single women and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). Eligible claimants, including these groups, will receive land titles, providing them with security and the ability to access resources and government schemes. Furthermore, record corrections will be made to ensure accurate and rightful documentation for all titleholders.

Objective of Odisha Mo Jungle Jami Yojana

ମୋ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ ଜାମି ଯୋଜନା aims to ensure livelihood and food security for Scheduled Tribes and Forest dwelling populations. Eligible claimants, especially single women and PVTGs, will receive land titles, enabling them to gain ownership of land and access forest resources as per their entitlement. The scheme also aims to integrate these communities into mainstream development programs initiated by the government.

As per the tribal profile of Odisha, the state is home to 62 types of tribes, including 13 particularly vulnerable  Tribal groups (PVTGs). The 2011 census says the state is ranked 3rd in terms of tribal population nationally.

There are nearly 53,845 villages in the state among them 32,562 villages are under the central FRA scheme. In the state about 62 types of tribal caste available among them 13 types of tribal communities are belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). As per the 2011 census, the tribal population is more than 9.5 million in the state which shares 22.85% of the total population of Odisha. This Tribal Population covers nearly 35,739 Square Kilometers of land in the state

Mo Jungle Jami Scheme Budget

Odisha State Government first recognize this Odisha State Forest Rights Scheme in the launching of the Budget for this financial year 2024-25. During the Annual Budget Announcing State government allocated 26 crores to Mo Jungle Jami Yojana. This budget under the scheme is funded by the State government own. There is no share of the Central Government.
